As human beings, we are all subjected to natural emotions like fear, happiness, desire, love, sadness, grief, frustration and so on. While some are positive emotions, which are good for your health and overall well being, there are some negative ones, which can devastate you. Anger, happens to be one the most deadly negative human emotion.

The old saying that  there is beast in each one us  is very true. On a broader view point, it implies that apart from all good behavior aiming for peace and well being of others, human beings have  bit of animalistic  nature in them. Of course, it is our choice whether we would like present ourself with this nature to the society. 

It is quite natural for all of us to get angry. We cannot deny the fact that we have been angry at sometime or another. You will find it surprising that being angry mildly at times helps in relieving stress. However, the real problem starts when we choose to be angry all the time and we make it as our part of our daily routine life. 

Before we discuss how to get rid of this dangerous emotion from ourselves, we need to first find out the underlying cause. 

Why do we get angry ?

Each individual has different reasons to be angry. Anger is not limited to one particular class of people. Kids, teenagers, woman, man, old persons, doctors, engineers, officers, servants and list goes on and on… 

While it is difficult to pinpoint each and every reason of being angry in this article some of the common reasons are as below:

What do we loose by getting angry?

Getting angry itself means loosing. When you get agitated, there are turmoils and disturbances within you. All parts including your brain get excited and behave abnormally. There are chemical as well physiological imbalances within your body. Damages are directly dependent on the intensity of your anger. You could even end up in hypertension, heart attacks or strokes if you remain angry for long and that is why anger is rightly called the tickling time bomb. 

Imagine a surprising hurricane or tornado striking your city. The storm might last only few minutes but leaves trail of destruction all around. Anger, precisely does that to you and also others who is facing your wrath.

Steps to control anger

While it is difficult to get rid of anger completely, you can definitely make effort to tame it.  Here are some simple guidelines to help you to achieve this. 

  • Do not react immediately to a particular situation if you did not like it. Just divert your attention elsewhere for some time. By doing so, you mind tends to become calm.
  • Start taking deep breaths when you realize anger is surging inside you. It helps.
  • Have a balanced diet. Cut down or eliminate junk foods and other vices like alcohol, tobacco, caffeine and other irritating spices from your daily intake.
  • Drink plenty of water to remove toxins from your body, which are indirectly responsible.
  • Spend time on physical and mental exercise daily. Meditation for few minutes really helps.
  • Avoid stress and be positive. Realize the fact that some situations are beyond our control and we have no control over it.

Therefore, control your anger for your well being and betterment of the society. I am sure there are many good things in life you want to do rather than wasting time and many more things by being angry.

    Did you notice the title says The Tickling time bomb it should be the Ticking time bomb. I thought this was going to have tips along the lines of “when someone close to you is angry tickle them” but unfortunately that was not the case.
