This article is dedicated to all those smokers who knew each puff of smoke that they are inhaling is taking away their life and yet could not conquer this deadly habit. 

It is a well known fact that there can be only disasters with smoking. Despite this, many people who are already into the habit are unable to quit and there are many others who wants have the first taste of this poison. 

The habit usually starts as give it a try attitude or tendency to exhibit machoism.  Then slowly and steadily, the smoke inhaled clouds your brain, mind and you find yourself in a helpless situation. In other words, you become slave of this habit. 

Then comes tons of excuses for not wanting to quit smoking. For many it could be depression, stress, anxiety, loneliness and the list goes on and on….. Smokers usually fool themselves associated with one of the above reasons. This reason then acts as a right to smoke under the circumstances and that person keeps on going. 

Human body including our brain is very complex. It seems that the creator has taken particular care about withstanding lot of pressures and shocks both within and outside our body.  Sometimes, this very reason acts as a curse more than a blessing.  A smoker never realises how dangerous and fatal it is to smoke. Although he is aware of , little does he experience that by smoking the body gets rotten bit by bit initially. So there is a illusion that smoking is never actually going to harm him. 

By the time the first serious symptoms start sprouting out, he finds it bit too late to quit smoking. Smoking can be best compared to an artistic imagination of digging one’s own grave or putting garbage into your body through your mouth. I am sure you will agree that your body is no dustbin to inhale all those deadly toxins ! 

But here is some good news !  Despite the complex body system we have, there is another term called the  free will.  This is nothing but the tiny voice  within you nudging you to stop smoking. If you are able to raise this inner voice in you, you can quit smoking at one go.

No amount of pampering  or hard talk is going to work on smokers. Counseling or other methods only work temporarily. In fact, the crave for smoking comes back with venom if you try to stop if forcefully.

The magic lies with you. You alone can quit smoking and that too with just one firm decision. There can be thousand reasons for why you need to smoke, but dig out that ONE particular reason why you want to quit. The stronger the reason, chances are you will be successful. Your motivation to quit could be your kids, your wife, your parents, your goals, your unaccomplished dreams. You are the best judge to dig out the best possible reason why you want to quit.

I can assure you that once you establish the reason, you won’t read such articles because you are no more concerned with it. 

As for new persons in queue wanting to have their first experience with smoking, I would conclude with one parting advice… If you find a bottle labelled poison, will you still taste it to confirm ? Think about it…. If you find yourself saying of not touching that bottle,  then please stay away from smoking as this is undoubtedly an airy poison. God Bless !

    This is something I have personally been battling since I was about 12 there are some very good points brought up here on the smoking issue for sure
